Wildflower Walk: Sawtooth Ridge in the W-T Wilderness

The trail starts high and gradually descends, remaining in the forest for the early miles, then breaking out onto the open with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.  From Dayton, drive North Touchet Road (FR 64) toward Bluewood Ski Area. Bear right and continue past on FR 64, then left on FR 46 (Skyline Road). Continue 3.7 miles taking a right on FR 420, which ends at the trailhead in 0.2 miles. Near Sawtooth Ridge, in 1826, naturalist David Douglas made the discovery of North America's first known wild peony. Trip Leader: Ame Doyle emildoyle@gmail.com
